This is done for a couple where due to work either the male is staying away from the wife, or prior  to cancer therapy (chemotherapy/ radiotherapy, as these treatments are toxic for sperms and decrease their quality and quantity). The male partner can have his semen sample frozen, and then after his treatment is over, the couple can then plan a pregnancy through IVF/ICSI.  In case due to work the male partner needs to be away, then his semen sample can be cryopreserved and later  can be inseminated in his wife’s uterus through Intrauterine insemination technique (IUI), or if the couple is indicated for IVF/ICSI, then accordingly.
