It is a minimal invasive technique where with the help of a laparoscope, the internal organs can be examined and seen directly under one’s vision. It is used in cases of infertility where the female’s either one tube or both the tubes are blocked on HSG (tube test), or where there is dilated tubes (hydrosalpinx), or there are uterus anomalies (like unicornuate uterus, bicornuate uterus), pelvic adhesions, chronic pelvic pain, ovarian cyst ( endometrioma, dermoid etc),  or fibroids. The procedure requires general anaesthesia, and may require a single day stay. It has a shorter healing time and also minimal scar as compared to open surgeries.
