Donor Egg

An egg from a fertile woman is donated to an infertile woman to be used in ART procedure by IVF. The woman receiving the egg (recipient) will not be the genetic mother but will be the birth mother on record. Usually the woman requiring a donor egg would be in cases of Premature ovarian failure, perimenopausal women with poor ovarian reserve, or attained natural menopause, or woman who have had to remove their ovaries for some reason but have a uterus, poor egg quality or embryo quality, to avoid passing a genetic illness.
